Breaking Barriers in Stroke Care: ASBN Members Publish Groundbreaking Research

We are thrilled to share that two of our ASBN members, Dr. Jean-Luc K. Kabangu and Dr. Sonia V. Eden, recently had their manuscript published in JAMA Network Open!

Their research, "Hospital Patient Demographics and Administration of Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Ischemic Stroke," explores the impact of hospital segregation on the timely treatment of stroke patients. The study highlights how patients in hospitals serving predominantly Black and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities are less likely to receive life-saving IV thrombolysis—calling attention to critical disparities in stroke care.

Join us in celebrating this important contribution to health equity research!
