ASBN Brain Trust Mentor Recruitment

Thank you for your interest in serving as a mentor for The Brain Trust: ASBN Virtual Mentorship Office Hours.

As we enter Year 2 of this initiative, ASBN is excited to expand our network of neurosurgeon mentors dedicated to supporting the next generation of future neurosurgeons. Through The Brain Trust, U.S.-based ASBN student members (undergraduate, medical, and postgraduate trainees) are paired with ASBN neurosurgery faculty for individualized 30-minute virtual mentorship sessions focused on topics such as navigating the neurosurgery pathway, residency applications, mentorship, research, wellness, career development, and life in neurosurgery.

Mentors participate by hosting a 2-hour virtual office hour block, typically consisting of four 30-minute one-on-one Zoom sessions. Session dates and times are flexible and scheduled based on mentor availability. ASBN will coordinate student verification, scheduling logistics, reminders, and session management through Calendly and Zoom integration.

We are seeking mentors from a wide range of:

  • Neurosurgical subspecialties

  • Practice settings

  • Career stages

  • Personal and professional backgrounds

Your experience and perspective can make a meaningful impact on students navigating the path toward neurosurgery.

Thank you for helping us continue to build community, mentorship, and excellence within neurosurgery.
