ASBN Drs. Alexa I. Canady and Clarence S. Greene, Sr. Honorarium Awards Application


Dr. Alexa Canady and Dr. Clarence Sumner Greene, Sr. Honorarium Awards, is the highest honor bestowed upon a medical student by the American Society of Black Neurosurgeons (ASBN). This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding contributions of two rising 4th year ASBN student member medical students who have demonstrated exemplary dedication to research, leadership, and service within the realm of neurosurgery, echoing the groundbreaking achievements of Dr. Alexa Irene Canady and Dr. Clarence Sumner Greene.

Eligibility:
Must be a ASBN student member, U.S. medical student, MD/DO.
Must be entering the current year neurosurgery match cycle (2025)
Must have completed three years of medical school.


Personal Statement (Less than 500 words):

Letters of Recommendation

Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant's academic and/or professional achievements, emphasizing their suitability for neurosurgery and impact within Black/African American communities

 Confirmation of the applicant's eligibility and endorsement by a member of the Association of Black Neurosurgeons (ASBN)
