ASBN’s Annual Virtual Neurosurgery Resident and Intern Seminar
We are delighted to announce the return of ASBN’s Annual Virtual Neurosurgery Resident and Intern Seminar, scheduled for June 14, 2025. This seminar offers an invaluable platform for our incoming interns, current residents, and prospective medical students to gain crucial insights into the residency experience.
Our objective is to provide comprehensive guidance on navigating the challenges and opportunities of neurosurgery residency, including important discussions on diversity and equity within the field.
We are honored to feature three distinguished neurosurgeons who will share their expertise and perspectives:
Dr. Kendrick Johnson is a dual-fellowship trained cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon with expertise in treating stroke, aneurysms, AVMs, and carotid artery disease using both open and minimally invasive techniques. A Louisiana native, he trained at LSU, the University of Illinois, and the Semmes-Murphey Clinic. His research focuses on equity in stroke care and improving outcomes in cerebrovascular disease.
Dr. Arnett Klugh III is the endowed Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Nebraska. A U.S. Naval Academy Distinguished Graduate and former combat neurosurgeon, he established the first and only pediatric neurosurgery service within a U.S. military facility. Board-certified and fellowship-trained at Stanford and Lucile Packard, Dr. Klugh now leads efforts to advance family-centered, technology-integrated pediatric neurosurgical care across the Midwest.
Dr. Lindsey Ross is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon, health systems scientist, and Medical Director of Neurosurgery at Providence Saint John’s Health Center. A nationally recognized leader in health equity, she has been honored by the Congressional Black Caucus and the North American Spine Society for her work advancing diversity in medical research. Dr. Ross also serves on the editorial board of Equity in Neuroscience and is committed to mentorship and delivering high-quality care to underserved communities.
This seminar promises an enriching experience with a lineup of brilliant minds dedicated to fostering excellence in the next generation of neurosurgeons. We look forward to your participation and are confident that this event will provide you with valuable insights and perspectives.
